But we would generally advise using packages that were designed primarily for statistical analysis since their functionality will generally have been tested and verified for statistical purposes. These packages are not basically designed for statistical analysis, but all have some statistical functionality and some, being mathematical tools, pretty much allow you to write any statistical analysis from scratch. Over the years there have been several warnings that some of the inbuilt functions and analyses have flaws, but these have died down and the latest versions of excel do provide an easy means of conducting simple statistical analyses. There are add-in analytic tools packs, both published by Microsoft and supplied with the Excel /MS Office Installation and also supplied by third parties (including the StatPlus package that is the best method of accessing such statistical routines for Excel running on a Mac). The functions are located on the StatPlus:mac LE menus.Excel provides a number of basic statistical functions and analyses. Visit the AnalystSoft Web site, and then follow the instructions on the download page.Īfter you have downloaded and installed StatPlus:mac LE, open the workbook that contains the data that you want to analyze. You can use StatPlus:mac LE to perform many of the functions that were previously available in the Analysis ToolPak, such as regressions, histograms, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and t-tests. Option 2: Download StatPlus:mac LE for free from AnalystSoft, and then use StatPlus:mac LE with Excel 2011. ![]() After 30 days you will be able to use the free version that includes the Analysis ToolPak functions, or order one of the more complete solutions of XLSTAT. Open the Excel file that contains your data and click on the XLSTAT icon to launch the XLSTAT toolbar.įor 30 days, you'll have access to all XLSTAT functions. I can't find the Analysis ToolPak in Excel for Mac 2011 Now the Data Analysis command is available on the Data tab. If you get a prompt that the Analysis ToolPak is not currently installed on your computer, click Yes to install it. If Analysis ToolPak is not listed in the Add-Ins available box, click Browse to locate it. In the Add-Ins available box, select the Analysis ToolPak check box, and then click OK. Load the Analysis ToolPak in Excel for MacĬlick the Tools menu, and then click Excel Add-ins. StatPlus also shows four statistical measures related to classical hypothesis testing for each pair of variables in your data set. The ToolPak displays in English when your language is not supported. See Supported languages for more information. StatPlus creates a matrix showing pairwise correlations, equivalent to Excel's CORREL and PEARSON worksheet functions and equivalent to results of the Windows Excel Analysis ToolPak.
